Deep Tissue Massage
Great for looking at tense, tight muscle in neck, shoulders, back and legs. Deep tissue work is not painful and can  be very nurturing. Deep massage is not "hard" massage, which is  simply the result of exerting more effort; it does not require exceptional  strength or size. Deep tissue massage does not require significantly more  effort than light massage, and is beneficial for most clients. In deep tissue  massage there is less emphasis on pleasure as the primary goal and more  emphasis on altering structure and muscle restrictions. This is not to say that  the work is not pleasurable. Most clients, once they are accustomed to the  benefits of deep tissue work. prefer the increased degree of relaxation, the  alleviation of pain, and the longer lasting benefits.

Aromatherapy & Swedish Massage

Massage is a great way to promote relaxation, aid the healing process and enhance body function.

Much more than a back rub, Swedish Massage is a systematised, structured form of touch and one of the oldest known healing arts.

Evidence shows that clients receiving regular massage tend to have reduced pain, increased energy and range of movement, lowered stress levels and blood pressure, and greater psychological well-being. Massage can also help  skeletal alignment via muscle balance and thus improve mobility. These are just some of the effects of well-planned and targeted  bodywork, so taking the time to have regular massage treatments really  pays dividends

 Benefit of massage include:

  • Reduces stress, improves general wellbeing and helps with relaxation.
  • Enhances circulation.
  • Reduces muscle tension.
  • Improves lymphatic flow.
  • Breaks down scar tissue.
  • Helps remove built-up toxins & metabolic waste.

  • Injury recovery and rehabilitation.

This is a relaxation massage with aromatherapy oils which may includes your back, the front and back of your legs (including thighs), your feet, your arms and your chest. It is adjusted to need. During an hour or more of indulgence, this treatment will totally relax you and help drive out tensions. It’s a perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage, suitable from 12 weeks, is a safe, relaxing and beneficial massage to receive. It can help alleviate aches and pains during a time when the mothers body is going through many changes. Carrying a baby alters your center of gravity and puts a lot of stress on your back, abdominal muscles and shoulders. Pregnancy also relaxes your ligaments, so that your pelvic joints are less stable and your posture changes which pulls your pelvis forward which can lead to an aching back. Having gone through pregnancy myself I can provide a nurturing, empathic environment in which to provide this enjoyable, relaxing massage experience.

Following the consultation I will help you to lie on your side on the couch well supported by pillows so you are comfortable. During the massage you will only have the area of skin I am working on at that point exposed so your dignity will be preserved. I will check with you regularly that you are comfortable and the massage pressure is right for you.

Hot Stone Massage

Using the heat of the stones to warm the skin allows the skin to absorb moisturizing and therapeutic oils, while at the same time preparing the musculature of the body so the therapist can work into the deeper layers of muscle and fascia.

It is generally accepted that one stroke of a heated basalt stone is equivalent to 5-10 strokes of the therapists hand!

Harness the ancient healing powers of hot Basalt stones for total relaxation of the mind, body and soul. The smooth volcanic stones are warmed with exquisite oils and then are placed on the key points. As the heat penetrates relaxing muscular tension the massage is performed with long gliding movements and pressures.

Benefits include:

  • Capillaries respond to heat by dilating, therefore the skin & muscle tissue will receive fresh oxygen and nutrients. This will result in waste products such as lactic acid and carbon dioxide being expelled which may have caused stiffness and discomfort within the muscles.
  • Stimulation of the lymphatic circulation will help detoxify the body and also treat oedema (fluid retention)
  • Easing of stiffness and tension in muscles by relaxing the muscle tissue.
  • It induces feelings of relaxation and helps to de-stress

  • Helps redice inflammation
  • Decrease in tissue temperature can help to reduce pain and muscle spasm
  • Speeds up recovery from soft tissue trauma, such as muscle injury, by reducing inflammation.
